Join Outdoor Adventure for the Texas Outdoor Leadership Conference!

Join us for the action packed Texas Outdoor Leadership Conference, better known as TOLC. The annual event includes 150 students and outdoor enthusiasts from over 10 Texas universities. Outdoor presentations are student led and include diverse topics on adventure, leadership, and many diverse outdoor topics. You will even have the chance to try out camping on the fields behind campus! 

 

Date: Feb. 7 - Feb.9

 

Cost: $25; which covers food, camping equipment, outdoor gear, adventure race, dutch oven contest, workshops, and keynote presentation.

 

Location: Verious spots on SU campus.

 

Coordinated by our Outdoor Adventure staff, activities like an Adventure Race, a Dutch Oven Cook-Off, and a variety of student-led informational workshops will be held across campus! 

 

You won't want to miss our keynote speaker Ben Lecomte. He is the only person to have swam across both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans!

New York Arts Program (NYAP), Fall '25 Deadline: February 1

Interested in spending your fall '25 semester in New York City interning in arts and media? Apply to participate in the New York Arts Program (NYAP)!

 

The program is designed to provide any interested students in ANY major the opportunity to experience living in NYC and working in an arts-related field of their choice while earning up to 15 academic credits towards their degree. Previous internship sites include The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, Saturday Night Live, Glamour, Teen Vogue, and NBC.

Apply for the Woods Hole Partnership Education Program (PEP) for summer 2025

Are you a rising junior or senior majoring in a STEM field? If so, consider The Ernest Everett Just Foundation, and the Woods Hole Partnership Education Program (PEP) for summer 2025.

 

The Woods Hole Partnership Education Program (PEP) is a ten-week program consisting of a four-week course in global climate change and a 10-week mentored internship research project exploring marine biology and environmental science at the seaside village of Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Four hours of credit will be awarded to participating students via the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The program covers tuition, room and board, as well as travel, plus a $6,000 stipend.

Research and Creative Works Symposium - Accepting Proposals

Walking Study

We are looking for people from 35-75 years of age to help us understand if walking on a curved (non-motorized) treadmill is good for us! For this study, you will walk overground, on a traditional (motorized) treadmill, and a curved (non-motorized) treadmill. To do this we will measure your muscle activity, the forces you push on the ground with, and how you move while walking. Your time commitment for the study will be one session lasting 90 minutes. Volunteers needed: RRISD Quiz Bowl tournament on Friday

Texas Challengers Quiz Tournaments is looking for help for an upcoming Quiz Bowl tournament this Saturday at Round Rock High School.

Volunteers should be available from 9:30 am-4:30 pm, although we can divide volunteers into a morning group and an afternoon group if you think that would be easier.  Free pizza and bottled water will be provided for all volunteers.  Volunteers will need to bring a laptop and charger with them, as they will be reading questions to competing students.
